don't miss the entire saga.kind of book that is hard to leave until you are finished.
Gerritsen is actually Dr. Fans of medical thrillers, police procedurals and TV programs, such as "CSI" and "Bones," should really enjoy this book. Gerritsen. When Hoyt escapes from the high security prison where he is incarcerated, and appears to hook-up with the new killer, this dark and gritty thriller becomes "unputdownable." Is Jane still a target.Jane and her new partner, Detective Korzak, are joined in the investigation by FBI agent Gabriel Dean - a bizarre trio to say the least. The Surgeon: A NovelThe Keepsake: A Novel"The Apprentice" is the second in a series of New York Times best selling author Tess Gerritsen's Jane Rizzoli/ Dr.
And, fortunately, there is also some romance in store for this energetic, wild-haired woman.Warning - if blood and gore REALLY disturb you - think Hannibal Lecter - then stay away from the Jane Rizzoli books. Her work-life is a constant struggle against the police department's "old boy" attitude. Comic relief enters along with Jane's dysfunctional family. While she was on maternity leave she began to write fiction.
Her medical background is very important to this series, as the forensic and medical details involving crime scenes and victims are extremely accurate. Maura Isles thrillers. The forensic details, pathology, profiling, descriptions of the painstaking investigative work among the task force and their search for the serial murderers are riveting. And Dr. His MO is similar to "The Surgeon's. The media aptly dubs this new psychopath "The Dominator," because his murder method adds a new & grizzley twist to that of Hoyt's.
The characters, dark though they may be, are really well developed, especially that of Detective Rizzoli. The "The Apprentice," however, is a "follow-up" book and is somewhat dependent on its precursor for optimal understanding of the plot.Boston homicide detective, Jane Rizzoli, is still badly shaken & scarred, (emotionally and physically), by her near death experience in the previous novel, at the hands of the macabre serial killer, Warren Hoyt, "The Surgeon." She thought she had put him in jail forever but is still coming to terms with the ordeal - with being a victim rather than the one in charge.
All her life she has had to compete with her Alpha male brothers and now she is the only female homicide detective on the Boston force. As I am not the queasy sort, I really like these well written thrillers and have read most of them, each getting better and better.Jana Perskie
Her personality is prickly, and rightly so. Ms.
Maura Isles, a medical examiner who works the crime scenes, is introduced here. The compelling plot and multiple storylines are fast paced and deftly handled. Her healing process receives a severe setback when a new killer emerges on the scene.
She received her medical degree at the University of California, San Francisco. I would recommend reading "The Surgeon" first, although it, and "The Apprentice", are both stand alone novels.
I truly do not desire to give your company a bad report to others.Dan Tarno I am disappointed in your customer service and sure would like for you to resolve it. I have heard from so many people that Amazon Books was a wonderful place to buy books online. However it has been well over a month since my order and I have enquired of you twice about why I have not recieved my purchase nor heard anything from it.
The books ending has her set up for another criminal adventure with her as the intended victim again. She is constantly being hunted down by serial killers.she is the target of all the criminals in her 1st and 2nd outing. By the tenth installment, hopefully someone will finish the job and put poor Jane out of her misery. This was a hopelessly silly book. Jane Rizzoli, tough, wimpy, studly, pussy cat, fearless, cowering female cop. Her personality changes with each page.
Scenes are redundant and pointless. It's like are reading two different variations on a chapter back to back. And there are parts that contradict. And I do like Jane Rizzoli so I'm probably going to read part 3 in the series. This is dull, bland and aggravating. In a nutshell: Nothing happens. I must say, I'm confused at the reviews labeling this as "The Surgeon 2". It's nothing like the first book. I was at first thinking that this book was reading better than The Surgeon.
Nothing happens. What's worse, is that this book literally repeats itself. As if two versions had been written and rather than choose the best one they just stuck 'em both in.I couldn't say enough about how much I liked The Surgeon, though. Yet we read in his letters to her the complete opposite of what she told us he said. But, if it sucks, I'm done with the Rizzoli & Isles books for sure. And why in the world is information so needlessly repeated. Then it falls off and it falls off hard. It makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. The Surgeon was clever, suspenseful and gory.
The woman who evaluates Hoyt while in prison describes him to us. I can't state that enough. The first few chapters start out great. Absolutely nothing happens.
